Adam Peter Rickitt (born May 29, 1978), is a British actor, singer and model. Adam first came to public notice by starring as the character Nick Tilsley, in the soap opera Coronation Street. After leaving Coronation Street, Adam ventured into a brief pop career, releasing his album Good Times in 1999. He then starred successfully as Mark Cohen in the musical Rent. Adam is particularly famous for having an extremely well-defined "six-pack". In 2005, Adam was approved as a prospective parliamentary candidate for the Conservative Party. As part of this attempt to reinvent himself, in February 2006 he appeared on the politcal debate show Question Time, as one of the two non-partisan guests. He also took part in reality TV showThe Games during March 2006, although he only had two weeks training, compared to the other contestants 12. He is currently appearing in New Zealand soap, "Shortland Street".
