Scott Caan was born in Los Angeles, California on August 23rd 1976, to actor James Caan and Sheila Ryan, an actress and former model. His parents divorced a year after his birth. Scott was a roadie for the rap groups Cypress Hill and House of Pain, and was a member of the hip-hop group The Whooliganz, before enrolling at the Playhouse West acting school in Los Angeles. Scott began acting in the late 1990s, appearing in a number of low-budget films. His first role in a major film release was that of a Texas football player in the financially successful 1999 film, Varsity Blues. In 2003, Scott made his directorial debut with the film Dallas 362, which won a prize at the 2003 Las Vegas Film Festival. In 2005, Scott co-starred with actor Paul Walker (with whom he appeared in Varsity Blues) in the action film Into the Blue. Scott has been noted for saying "Sweetheart" frequently in movies in he stars in. Scott recently guested in US Comedy-Drama “Entourage”.
