DATE OF BIRTH: 8th April 1960 KEY FACTS: John Richard Schneider was born in Mt. Kisco, NY. John began acting at the age of eight. He was in many plays in New York. He and his mother moved to Atlanta, GA when he was fourteen. He got involved in the local theatre and was in many local productions. He had a small part in Smokey and the Bandit (1977) starring Burt Reynolds. His break came when he auditioned for the Dukes of Hazzard pretending he was a country boy from Snellville, Georgia. The show lasted from 1979-1985 and was a huge success with Duke products everywhere. He also became a popular country star with hits like "I've Been Around Enough To Know" and "Country Girls". He is the co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network charity organization, along with Marie Osmond. He is also doing work on the WB cartoon " The Mummy".
