Actor Karl Davies was born in Stockport, Cheshire, in 1982. When Karl was younger his first TV role was in Peak Practice. He then took over the part of Robert Sugden in ITV's hit soap, Emmerdale. Karl gets his thrills away from work in extreme sports, pushing himself as far as bosses will allow. Karl said: "We are not allowed to do anything too extreme or to go skiing, snow boarding or anything like that... But I'll try anything once." As well as having many fans, Karl's Mr. Nasty character Robert brought him some not so desirable attention from angry fans. Karl left Emmerdale in 2005. His recent notable roles include firstly, A Very British Sex Scandal, This was broadcast during a season of shows to commemorate the changing of the law with regards to Gay rights. Karl currently starts in ITV drama Kingdom with Steven Fry. Karl is straight, but has a large gay following.
