Matthew Steven LeBlanc was on born July 25, 1967 in Newton, Massachusetts. He has a half-brother named Justin. Matt is a graduate of Newton North High School and was also educated in Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. His first appearances on TV were that of commercials including products like Heinz, Levi's and Coca-cola. His first TV series appearance was in TV 101 and his first music video appearance was for Alanis Morisette's "Walk Away". He also appeared in Vinny and Bobby and Married With Children. In 1994 he was cast for Friends as Joey Tribbiani, a show that made him a household name. received three consecutive Best Actor nominations at the Golden Globe Awards for this role. He was married to Melissa McKnight and has a daughter with her. In 2006, however, they were formally divorced due to irreconcilable differences.
