Simon Thomas (born January 26, 1973 in Cromer, Norfolk) is a British television presenter. Following school he went to Birmingham University, where he graduated with a degree in History. Simon began presenting the children's programme Blue Peter on 8 January 1999, after his fourth audition. Prior to this, he had worked at Children's BBC and the radio station LBC. He has run the London Marathon twice, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro as well as Mont Blanc, trained for a parachute jump with the RAF, presented a medal at the Commonwealth Games and even directed one edition of the show. Simon announced his intention to leave Blue Peter on January 19, 2005, and his last live show was aired on April 25 of that year. Having expressed a preference in the field of sports broadcasting, he is currently presenting on Sky Sports News as well as Sky's programme Cricket AM.
